The best rap is not the highest level.
My main concern on this is that the hype in Hip Hop is more of a way of breaking down music that is not necessarily very well received. I’m not talking about high expectations, it takes more focus with the artists out of the equation. That kind of thing. That’s what my priority is. I just want to put the best out there. I’m in a great spot right now. I feel that my record is my most successful album, for sure.
With so much focus and so much hype around him being the new Kendrick Lamar and he’s always been a big influence. What have you found there
I feel like I’m going to do my best to do some work. I think that with the fans, there’s definitely room for a little bit more. I really love it here. I’m a big fan of the music of Kendrick and he really shows it, so I think everyone needs to have fun.
For the record, I was like, This is great. I’m really happy that things are going on so well. I thought that Kendrick is on something that was out of my control. It’s funny because he was like ‘It’s Kendrick,’ Like God, you’re right. So it’s cool. It’s cool. He got to get going here. He didn’t wanna take a ride back to Miami.
The first few times I’ve been writing, I was all talk but never really talking to people. When people are really close and get things done I can actually make them talk at an accelerated pace. Now that we’ve gone the distance I can actually just read, talk, talk, and get to an audience. My second encounter was when I found something I was looking for, and didn’t know where to turn until I read it.
And in my case it was that book about an old friend who was a wizard who was very good at writing books, so I’m really glad I read that.
We’re all familiar with dragons. How they have wings or tails, and what kind of powers they have. A lot of people are very good at writing things, but what makes these books so popular and great is that the author does not just give an example, but a detailed account of how the characters come to be and how their lives are connected.
