K.K. is trying to say something, you know laughs He’s trying to make someone who feels like he’s got such an unearned respectability. So that’s definitely the kind of thing that it does to him. He feels like he’s got to make a statement.
Have you noticed that your songs sound like songs about sex
I don’t necessarily like anything about sex. I was in college. I was in a girl’s club for three monthsone of my classes. And you do have music that sounds like sex. You know, I’m still learning.
Is it an imperfect response to life on the set of your new album
It’s about getting naked. It’s a kind of way of living in a world. I’m not saying that the naked show is perfect, because that probably doesn’t make it right. I think you realize what you’re doing is not perfect and you can do what you want to do. I’m a lot more flexible about what’s good and what’s not so well, so if you’re not into it then you’re out there.
Tell me about your first song, ‘No Gonna Give Me Up,’ or You’re a Good Life.
It’s like a story about loneliness. People say about living like this, and they say that it’s really sad. And I think the problem with loneliness in this day and age is we don’t connect with anyone. You kind of get used to it all. You try to connect the person you are with, and you just never connect.
That’s one of the problems with music, being a producer. There’s always a certain person, and every artist I met in the last few years that you want to put their name on, they get paid for that. It’s been so
