It’s based on the number of hectares of land within the enclosure and has to be sold in advance of their arrival. All properties must be fully registered with Licensing Scotland after one year.
We will also ask that your name be given as a registered customer. Once you are registered with Licensing Scotland we will let you know where your address is and let you know when the zoo will be closing.
We ask that you ensure that you can access your property on time without interruptions.
What is a Licensed Animal
A Licensed Animal can be owned in a conservation area or a public enclosure within the zoo. It is required to have a full licence in order to be considered suitable, not to be allowed to be sold. In the same way, a Licensed Animal in a conservation area is not allowed to be sold to animal welfare workers.
What does the licence provide
The following details apply to the licence
Where you reside, any one of the following applies
The enclosure
Where the enclosure is open
Where animals are kept, housed, or in a common enclosure
It could also be if you live in a different country, or where animals are in captivity, and you decide there is something in your interest to have them moved to a different county.
What happens if you aren’t able, or don’t want to live within the enclosure
We cannot provide you immediate access to your Zoo property, but you may contact your local council or council and they will then send you the licence. In some cases it may prove difficult to move these animals from our property.
When does my Zoo licence become an EAS
A UK government licence can become effective at the same time as any other permit that has been issued by the National Environmental Service (NCSA). It usually takes a year for the NECSA’s approval to go through a review where a different licence can be considered.
The NPAS will normally respond to a written request within four weeks after the application has been made. However once the NPAS has approved the licence we will then get your details.
The NPAS can be contacted via the links provided below
