In our testing we have found that a 30-day dog walking program works by rewarding and training your dog to be a better walker than any other type of training.
If training your dog on a particular approach helps you feel better, it can improve her ability to maintain a safe, happy, and peaceful life.
It isn’t necessary to complete the program, but it is important to know it can work. It is important to learn how to use it to your advantage as a walker.
Many dogs are trained to make quick, one-time jumps and are required to do the same routine before they can participate. A small child can be trained to go 5-10 steps and use their fore paws to perform several basic jumps before they become familiar with these methods.
However, most walkers are expected to follow the training well with any number of modifications based on their age. If a parent has told me they would like to teach an older dog the basic jump, I would have no reason to be surprised. If the exercise is not taught properly, it is difficult for the dog to maintain a decent, comfortable and rewarding life.
You can’t just train up some of your walkers. You’ll need more training.
Your dog can’t be taught to jump every day.
It takes training and dedication for your dog to be proficient in the basic steps of one of the most basic walks in the world. Your dog will benefit from using the same techniques and behaviors learned in the program, so please continue to use all of the methods you learned during the program as well for the benefit of your dog.
Some walkers will even use the same techniques to teach themselves new skills, such as being aggressive, taking deep breaths in the middle of the day, and being calm and collected. Other walkers won’t learn to go with the method and stick to it the entire time it takes to be successful, as they become addicted to their training. Most dogs won’t learn the basics of the basic steps. Even their parents will tell them to practice certain moves and tricks in order to build strong, healthy, effective walker relationships that will allow them to continue working out. All of these walkers are learning skills of some kind that will likely never be taught. If they haven’t done this for years, or have never done anything that has a chance at making a true difference, many walkers will see no benefit from training them.
