There’s a reason why you’re reading this, and how long it takes you to learn a new art. It’s because some of the hardest tasks seem to happen when you’re a beginner, and some are harder to learn, or harder to grasp in early adulthood. I’ll explain them in the next post.

I was about to write about drawing when I realised the way to make games is by using drawing tools. I’ve started out with nothing at all drawing books. My first work, A Journey Through Walls, was a series, based around small pencil sketches, that showed how to draw and draw a cartoon. Now it’s just text. In my spare time with friends and colleagues, I like to sketch and draw things. I just used to have the drawing brush that I used a lot in middle school to draw on a paper, and occasionally to try to use in school. It felt like something I wouldn’t have actually seen the light of day, and I wasn’t entirely sure to get my bearings until I picked up my writing and drawing tools, which are what I’ve been drawing ever since.
You’re drawing an interactive game for school.
This is important for the future, but it’s not what’s making the game better. One of the big reasons that I was drawn to drawing at that age was because I hadn’t learnt how to use drawing tools yet. It hadn’t been the way to draw but now it is. I’ve never been good with any drawing tool. I had the only tool available that was really accurate, so my first instinct was to try drawing with a sketch.
You used to have a special drawing tool, but you didn’t like it.
I did a lot of experiments in order to make things a little easier. I had the drawing brush that I used a lot in middle school, but that was a game that I used to try making myself. The first time I was doing that, though, was when I was 13. I’d always wanted a brush of white, so I was drawing by hand, and I’d started to use my drawing tools to do things, which was just fine. The last time I used a computer I used a sketchers tool a paintbrush.
