Let’s imagine that everyone is a regular and doesn’t lose more than 40 pounds. This way, most people don’t go so far as to say, Oh, I’ll go this fast. They have the most control over who can change how close to 15 pounds they fall. I don’t need to be convinced. Here’s how.
Let’s say someone is 16 to 18 years old. They have an 18 hour day. So when they walk 5, 6 miles, or any other fast, they’re at the limit of their normal metabolic rate. They eat a high volume of food, usually white rice, and can take it to the bathroom. They are physically active by the time they return to their work.
They also live in a neighborhood with limited resources. I know the people who can’t or don’t work or do not want to work in San Francisco. Most days, just do their own food. But if they are too ill to work, they can easily do a quick meal at McDonald’s on the corner of Main and Main Streets. (No more McDonald’s, no more burgers.)
If they have a medical problem or are obese-they will make it harder for themselves and others to take care of themselves and others. They cannot find jobs that pay more than that. You won’t find any benefits for the person who lost 40 pounds, such as more sleep, a lighter breakfast, or not eating at all. (I do not care to say this.)
And remember, when a person is overweight, they are at a bigger risk for weight gain and death than a healthy person. So it is wise to know that if you lose 20 pounds fast, you will live for the rest of your life and avoid this kind of thing from your life.
And as with any other condition called the risk factor, the real risk with fasting is not how fast you eat, but how long you sit there and eat. If you find that you should cut back, you are likely making your body more vulnerable. You might actually want to keep an extra 30 pounds of food on hand rather than take the fast because it is also less likely that a low-carb or even ketogenic diet will make you lose any weight at all.
