BANGKOK – A Bangkok police force has fired one of its five officers after finding evidence that two of his subordinates raped a woman.
The police chief’s office said the officers accused of raping the woman said they were the senior officers, who left the area at the request of the female worker, who is a woman at large.
The women arrived at Koh Phuket, another police station in the southern city, where there is no formal complaint about the case, where the chief told reporters that they were assaulted by the men.
The woman reported the incident to the chief’s office but did not report him to the police, the chief said.
The two men were charged with raping the woman and the chief said he didn’t realize they were pregnant.
He also said four of the five officers involved in the case were arrested in connection with the case and the charges are pending against them.
The woman said the men gave a statement of the attack to police that said they had sexually assaulted her repeatedly in the name of the chief for more than three hours.
The police chief said the suspect was a senior officer of a senior division that had been relieved of the department by the police.
Police have also taken three other police personnel into custody for questioning and the case is pending.
