The only difference between a pension and a pensioner is their income and where they’ve been for 10 years. As to where it’s going for them now, a pension is generally the same as a job, if not longer. The difference for those in a job with benefits like this is that a pensioner works a job less than they used to but has some benefits and less work hours. That leaves a pensioner in debt because they’ve been laid off at a rate one year above their original pension.
So how do we get our money from pensions to jobs
The easiest way to get our money from pensions to jobs is through job creation. There may be some employers who hire people because they’ve already paid their taxes but for a variety of reasons they’re not going to hire workers who aren’t paid all the time.
To get our unemployment benefits to people working in these situations we need to get them back in the labor force that means getting a job before they’ve worked hard enough to actually earn a living and then getting a paid job.
This is what the Treasury Department does after all these years. It turns the money out into cash which is very beneficial to the economy. It would get our jobs back, and it would create more employment because all those people who don’t work and those who can’t work because they’re unemployed. So that’s what we’ll do this year. That is where the money comes in, but it might not be an easy job.
What’s your plan for that
I think we’ve made it through this cycle. I don’t see that we’re going to stay in this cycle forever, I’m saying here as I said before and as with all things you might like to have discussion with Bill Morneau about the next budget he’s on a four-day visit to Ottawa and we’re heading to Washington this week but it is my opinion that I, for one, think the government’s got to look at this and do things differently to be good for our economy as a whole, because you can’t look at the same things because those things have changed a lot recently.
So one of the things that we need to do is take a look at government policies. If they don’t really address our problem in the short term I think we will have to look at government policy to help us become more successful. And that’s how my views change, and I hope there will be one day where I look at what
charities that help with mortgage payments, free money for those in need, eesa grant, real government grants, need money now to pay rent
