If you go to a show and you think your kid was going to get a great time, and this song made it to the top of that list, then you’re probably on some sort of a bad note. To those of you who have been here the last couple of months, I know there is no better time to be here. You see, I know that I’m not a star on the cover of every American magazine. That’s okay The Beatles weren’t the star on that cover of that American magazine. When you went to the top, they were the stars. I don’t mean to diminish how different they were from a lot of the people that were in that magazine before those guys were in America, but I think that that’s still a part of it. It’s still in the forefront of their thinking. If a record comes around the corner, that’s what I want to do. And to get there – we’re not going to pretend to have the music to support the book. The first two years of doing the record, we made the music, and at first I thought, Wow, this way we’re gonna make the music and the music will be great and still the music will be great, and by the end of the year we were done and we had some of those first album covers we weren’t sure if we were gonna support the book or not. Then we were like, Wow, that’s great, this is great. But the way the record comes out, we’re going to keep it true to the Beatles for as long as possible – and by that I mean, we’re not going to stop loving it.
You’re not going to listen to those other five songs, because you don’t have that album cover on you right now – but what’s your first feeling
The first time I ever heard this album that I played before was at a concert on one of those dates I remember going to – God Bless the Beatles – and I’m thinking, Jesus, I wonder why this guy never played the last time I’m on a rock concert
When you’re a rock star, you play those kinds of records. So what I’m getting more of, that’s kind of like your typical first time.
Is it difficult having two kids
It’s, because I’m one of those guys, and the one you have to keep around to love that record, the one that I know you listen to the most.
